I can understand editing out the video... It may be disturbing to some and could probably be found by a web search if one were really interested. But what's the point in locking the thread once it's been censored? The video was removed voluntarily, so it's not like the poster is going to try to edit it back in. What, is it taboo to discuss the unpleasant things in the world?

While the man did some terrible things in his life, I don't think hanging him will fix them. I'm curious what others think/feel about it.

I removed the video, and the image that was associated with it. If something was posted to spark discussion, that would be a different story, but I don't think a video of *anyone* being hanged is appropriate for the forum, in the same way that porn or exceedingly gory or violent posts are. I locked the thread instead of deleting it so people would know it's been posted and removed already. I've seen it come up on a few forums, and I figured someone would post/repost it if they didn't know it had already been up, especially since not everyone was awake/around this morning because they were out last night.

We (as americans) have the right to see the death of the man that has caused so much pain and suffering for the united states military men/women and especially there families....i personally have known numerous men that have died fighting our country......

i say let it stay on this site and make it that much easier for the video to be shown...

I would imagine that he was hiding because the US military was deployed, invading his country, with the objective of removing him from power. You think if China invaded the US Bush would be on television giving weekly press conferences at the White House?

It has not been proven that Iraq was doing anything to instigate a war, they didn't even find any WMDs. Their armed forces were severely outdated and outnumbered, I fail to see how they were a threat to the US or the rest of the world.

And, there have been multiple world wars, the US is usually smart enough to wait until all the other countries involved are stretched very thin, tired out, and then comes in with fresh troops and resources.

What would happen today if we needed our military or National Guard? What if, say, there was a massive hurricane creating flooding in the southern part of the country...

but sadaam was a very wealthy man ...ON A SIDE NOTE....how does alqueida finance all of their missions/weapons/personelle.....there has to be some outside sources......now with alqueida and sadaam having similar on different levels of motives.....i do feel that sadaam went into hiding because he may have something to do with alqueida financially....

would bush go into hiding...YES....

just because wmd's were not found in iraq does not mean that they are not a threat

if there was a hurricane/flooding in the south.....there are more than plenty military men/women in the military/gaurd....(me being one of them) would be shipped very quickly

what about katrina.... there was national gaurd all over the place....i was stationed at keesler afb when that happened....granted i saw lots and lots in boloxi....it took quite a while for troops to go to new orleans because of the looting and rioting and that it was on lock down

looting and rioting falls in the hands of law enforcement.....not government is kind of weird when it comes to this kind of stuff.....military/gaurd are there quick when it comes to giving food and water and shelter....yet the looting and rioting they stay back.....military's main concern is the defense of the u.s.a....now that should include looting and such but it doesnt unless it gets to a point that the local/state law enforcement cannot control it.....

I'm not getting into this further, I know it's pointless to argue this on the internet and I don't want to get another thread into heated debate. Feel free anyone else, I just don't want to waste my time.

The original intent of my posting in this thread was to explain why I locked the other one. The video is still out there, you can search youtube or whatever if you haven't seen it, I just don't find it appropriate for this site. I want everyone to know that my personal/political views didn't play into that decision at all.
