Transmissions are not OBD-anything. That's purely electronics.
That said, you probably mean if you can use a newer type transmission.
You can -but- the newer ones are hydraulically actuated. This means you would need to buy a conversion kit for this.
sorry for the delay, but i noticed that there are two silenoids (spelling sorry) for the torque converter on top of the 92-95 tranny adn only one for the 88-91 tranny. i guess i answered my own question. it seems there is a seperate TCU for this type of tranny. That is what I finally got out of my local honda shop. Guess its a no go for it now. thanks for your help guys
