^yup everything he said. Is it me or does everyone who first buys a used rex the window is somehow busted? Anyway when I first got mine I thought it was off track too, but closer inspection showed that the regulator was bent and F'd. Put a hammer to good use and straightened it out. Works a lot better than how it was before.

Oh yea dont forget to put a lil bit of grease in between the arms.

Sometimes the regulator's mount bolts come loose and let the window sag and slip out of the track. Check all the bolts while you're in there. 4 for the regulator crank assembly, and 2 for the short track bolted to the door panel.

If you don't do a burnout it will fall off again.

^^^ Ditto

The regualtor was bent on mine too. It is still not perfect but will have to work for now until i can find another one. Also i have found that the window track can sometimes get gunked up or get something in it, which will also throw the window off.
Check your window, the regualator and window tracks.

I

I tried to fix one in a friend of a friend's car (90-3 Accord)... I ended up with a face full of glass. I must have tweaked it a bit un-jamming it, and it exploded. So much for safety glass. I had little slashes all over from it.

Same thing happened to me...

Replaced the regulator...still happened.
Replaced seals in runners...still happened.
Replaced the metal runners...still happened.

I lived with it and told the passengers to not touch the freaking window crank or they walk home. hah. I got pretty good at taking the door off and putting it back together.

Lots of stuff can go bad in there to make the window off track. My one word of advice is to take off the door panel on the working door and compare. If you have to, take out the regulator off the working door and compare. You'll find what the problem is soon enough that route.

And you wonder why?

Example:
My car is in the middle, my windows are fine, while Matt's car on the right there, has/had a broken passenger side track.

Do you see why?

Say "I" if this has ever happened to you...
Strangely, no. Had to put a new window crank on the drivers side because the knob broke off the end ... maybe it's just because I do enough "preventive burnouts"
