So marty and I went to a couple local junk yards today to scout for a tranny for his gf's escort (yeah yeah yeah I know, and it's a slushbox). I was a little mad that the good (read: cheap) JY crushed almost a third of their Japanese cars this week... including the 2 hatches and one CRX that were there. The other yard had a nice black freshly painted and freshly collisioned DX a little while ago, but that was gone...

but wait, what's that over there shining in the rust coloured sea...

An 89 Si, Barbados Yellow! I don't know why it's there, but I can tell you that there will be an increase in CRX accidents in the NH area soon. The door panels, most of the interior, carpet, and sunroof were gone. It had 2 Si seats, 2 DX seats, and 2 EG seats in it (so it's a 6-seater?). The strange thing is, the motor and tranny are there, and the body is fine. The marker on the windshield says that the motor and tranny are good... so what's it doing there?!

Marty wants to take the hood and some trim off the outside... I want no part.

Other neat finds...

a MINT ford festiva... with a dealer spec sheet in the window

a 90-91 civic Si with what appears to be a completely fibreglass body complete with M3 fenders, knockoff ground controls, and some yellow springs

a bunch of Fieros (for Bart  )

a hearse.

Wow...

A friend of mine owns a festiva and it's sort of a big joke around here. I'm definitely showing him that site, but he actually likes the festy because he doesn't have to worry about locking it or anything and it gets good mileage. He DOES have a 12A rotary kicking around from his RX7 project, but he won't put it in.
