I'm starting to accept the fact that my pinion thing in the diff may be going, based on the clunking I've been hearing lately. I'm waiting on my ES inserts to get here (front mount is completely dead now!), and if they don't cure the problem, I'm going to need a new tranny soon. I won't be driving much after this week, I'll be at my job in New Haven, so I'll be doing it in August, along with a lot of other things.
Where is the best place to get a ZC tranny, and just how rare are the factory LSDs? I'd like to get the best I can, ZC 1-4, steal the 5th out of stef's HF tranny, and use my Si final with a limited slip. What is this going to cost me? Will my clutch swap over, as long as it's another 89-91?

Check out places in Toronto for the tranny, since you will be up there soon.

I can check if I still have an extra front mount... I shouldn't have gotten rid of it.

The clutch diameter went up to 212mm in 90 and 91, but spline count stayed the same.

Thanks Scott. Where in TO is a good place to look (Jess is going to love that!). I don't need another mount, but thanks, I have an extra one, and it doesn't matter with the inserts anyway.

There were a ton if importers up there, well, at least a couple years ago. I would stay away from Lucky Star if they are still open though.
