91 CRX (D15B2) Overheating

Postby Sylo » Sun Apr 04, 2021 10:13 am

Hey, first post on here.
I'm having overheating issues and not really sure what it's tied to, anyone know any troubleshooting steps I could take? I'm a bit new to this automotive stuff.

Both I believe, It hasn't been started in about 2 years because that was what was holding it down, only incident I've heard is when it was on the highway but even on idle there seems to be a bunch of white smoke, symptom of a blown/cracked head gasket?

It's time to remove the head for inspection.

Where can I find the torque specs for the nuts and other things?

Chase down a copy of the 1990 or 1991 CRX factory service manual. The companion Electrical Troubleshooting Manual is also very useful.

The original factory manuals have a blue cover with white lettering. Factory authorized reprints by Helm have a white cover and the service manual is in two volumes. Check used book outlets. They can be found any day for $100 or more but if you have time to wait for a good deal they can be found for $40 or less. About $30 for the manual on CD.

It has been years since I have seen a good down load link for the factory manuals but they may still be out there.
