I got my first CRX two months ago from a fella in Denver. Very clean, but with a few minor problems I was able to overlook and will get fixed eventually, and one major problem. I've posted a few times but haven't really thought of putting a build thread together. I figure I should though before I get too far away from when I got it and forget where it came from.

The good:
No visible rust - quarter panels and door are rust free, huge selling point.
115k original miles
Bone stock engine - little rough patch at 3k rpm which i have yet to diagnose
Very clean interior - save mats, the original mats were stolen and it has some blue mats which don't match

The bad:
Biggie - it would seem the car has been in a crash before. the skin looks great, new paint job when it was repaired too so its a nice celestial blue pearl. however, the back left corner was replaced with another crx's shell. the job was not done very well. by this i mean, as far as the eye can tell, it was not welded together, merely caulked together with some bondo. I am not up to the task of fixing this yet, and the road noise is not noticable, but the alignment issues and leaking from the poor repair job are a daily annoyance.
Because of the repair job - alignment. biggest thing here is the hatch, which locks, but the open hatch light remains on and it leaks water on the left side.
Rear divider is out of alignment, does not lock. not a huge issue, but it makes the problem noticeable in symptom from the inside.
Driver door does not sit flush, but it still locks so i am willing to overlook this as well for now.
Usual seat problems - having covers made to reupholster it and repair the foam

That's most of it. I met up with 90zcrx three weeks ago in colorado springs. He was a huge asset and I'm hoping to pick his brain in the future as well. We spent an afternoon and fixed the passenger window, which had a bent arm. Changed the oil and oil filter, definitely needed to be done. And replaced the halo taillights with OEM ones. Work wasn't terribly complicated, but it was a blast. I've also put in a new stereo, old one was stolen, and am working on figuring out the messed up wiring on the rear left speaker.

I have a couple more minor restorations I want to do before I tackle an engine rebuild. I would like to rebuild it stock, with some higher performance parts. I might boost if I think it will be fun to do, but that will be down the road. Right now I need to get the short shifter installed, disable my open hatch light (always on), put on an Si sticker (who steals a sticker?), touch up the paint in spots, fix the rear right speaker, fix the problems with rear speaker covers (too much bass making the cloth rattle, even without bass), fix divider alignment, and repair/reupholster the seats.

Sorry I got so long winded, didn't think I had that much to say when I started. I'm really looking forward to working this thing through the next few years while I'm at the academy and am glad to be on the community a member (i was a voyeur when my buddy bought a CRX three years ago).

And of course, a couple pictures because we all love pictures, more when I get them:

Went and re-looked at the paint code, definitely Tahitian green pearl. must have been a Freudian slip there on cbp
Ppl do mix them up, and they can look similar in pics, though side by side you can def. see the difference.

BTW, I assume you got the rear 1/4 moldings?
I also started a feedback thread for you too......in the feedback section.

Last weekend I got around to installing a short throw shifter I got in from a friend. It's a skunk2 shifter. Once I had the old shifter out, I noticed they didn't look terribly different, I felt disappointed. However, i went ahead and tossed in the new shifter anyway... loving it. Next is to get the engine worked on to get some more pep under the hood. Still, feels even better to drive.

After finally getting around to cleaning up the car's interior, I realized how horribly out of place my blue floor mats are in the black interior. I ordered these after looking around for a while:

definitely looking forward to these.

Question for the board: Has anybody found a way to fix the far recline in Si seats? I have searched around a bit and the best option seems to be to whack a few extra notches in the recline mechanism. I'm not unhappy with the seat placement, but it hurts during long trips. I would like to reupholster the seats in the future instead of replacing them.

@90zcrx: I would definitely like to get working on the engine and tuck. Congrats on the baby shower. I'm sure you'll have a lot on your hands once to baby comes in. Anything we can knock out before then would be sick. Let's see if we can work something out for next weekend.

where'd you get those floor mats? I like them a lot.

Email the people before you buy if you want them. The base level is $50, but you can get the logo added on for 25 and an upgrade to berber for 50. it ended up being 124 for me, free shipping. but email them first. they will do changes to your order to get exactly what you want. the berber isn't neccessary, but it'll last a hell of a lot longer.

@mtflyboy - definitely be down there. superglue is fine i suppose, but i think we can fix a window without it...

Nah man, the rear piece that is supposed to hold the window is broke... So there is only half there, so I have to glue it to it haha.. The front piece is there, but window pops out of it too... So ill super-glue it as well...Other than that I think it shouldn't be too hard.. I need to find a shop vac, and a place to plug it in and tow the rex there to finish getting all of the crap out...

oh my exciting day. didn't do much work on the rex except general washing and waxing then some touch-up paint. big excitement though out getting pizza with 90zcrx. on the way back i was riding it a little hard and my stick popped. now i can find the gears with the stick and drive it alright, but while in gear the stick wobbles back and forth. I'm pretty sure it's because i reused some old nasty bolts when i replaced the shifter. the arm that holds the ball socket to the chassis must have broken and now the shifter is basically shifting while in suspension. still drove alright, going to jack it up and poke around. If what i think is wrong is wrong, shouldn't be any problem to fix, lesson learned. if not... well there'll be pictures either way.
