Adjusted dash pot trying to solve high (and surging) cold idle. Book says 2000 rpm +- 500. Got it down to 2400 and ran out if room to adjust the tab.

Should I be looking for a vacum leak or is it possible to not get it down to 2000 rpm

And yes I know 2400 is within spec, but I want it lower.

My only thought is to grind the tab

I cleaned the iacv and it fixed my hot idle surge. The book I'm using is the Honda manual.

The book covers the 1.5 and 1.6 civic. What I do is use the mechanical sections for the 1.5 and the control sections for the 1.6. It says remove vacum hose 6 and adjust. 2500rpm +- 500. Which would be 2000 - 3000 rpm. As I read it 2400rpm is within spec.
