someone was telling me that there is a certain model crx with a rack and pin which allows me to turn the wheels more with a smaller turn of the wheel. idk if i explained myself right but i was just curious. if there is one, factory or after market, and if someone knows..... please point the way.

Everything you need is already covered in this thread. Just disassemble your Dx or HF steering rack assembly and re-assemble with the Quaife parts. Done. Of course you'll probably end up replacing some worn parts when you do this, but the Quaife rack & pinion set works with all the other OEM steering components, so you don't need anything special.

It's a matter of opinion. I like it, but when Tom (downest) drove my car he said he wouldn't do it to his CRX. If you think zero- or low-speed turning is tough on your arms with a stock CRX, don't do it, because it only gets a lot worse. I also wouldn't recommend it with a steering wheel smaller than 350mm. The Quaife rack makes medium speed corners feel awesome IMO, and contrary to popular belief, it's not incredibly twitchy on the highway.

Need a HF or DX rack? I've been running a Quaife in my Si rack for 6 years...

I love it! Aside from buckets and harnesses, it was one of the best mods I've done to the car.
Is your rack stamped "VGR" on the bottom?

I want buckets and a roll bar so bad.

After I posted that, I thought of the possibility of the PO of my CRX putting a HF or DX rack in the car...but a steering rack is one of those things that rarely fail and way off the radar for most people that modify cars.

I guess the possibility is there. Once stuff around LeMons dies off and I start working on the race car again, I'll take a look at the rack and see what the numbers/letters on it read.
