Hello CRXcommunity.com, I'm BannisteR and here is my project car.
I picked her up December of 07 as a stripped shell. The shell was in great shape, no body rot or rust and had paperwork. Hasn't been registered stateside yet. She had doors, dash, carpet, hatch and haggard suspension. Picked up a set of HX wheels to roll her onto the tailor to get home and roll around in the garage. I'm currently stationed in VA and the car is in Cali safe in the garage. I will be getting hot and heavy into the build up of her very shortly as ill be bringing her out to VA so I will have ample time to work on it.
Most current state as of September '10:

I now remember again why I hated pulling the dash to access the old harness... I started pulling everything from the firewall again the get to all the plugs and connectors as well as get access to the silly plastic fasteners that don't want to leave the car holding the harness in. As I'm pulling everything I'm noticing ways I want to upgrade or fix a few things on the car. Figuring out what holes I'll be using on the car wasn't the goal last time I did this, all I did was pull everything to prep for paint in the engine bay. Well since having the motor in and seeing what I'll be using and won't be using I can clean up the bay that much more now. I'm also going to ditch the Hasport cable to hydro setup and make my own hydro setup since no companies make RHD kits. I'll be moving the fuse box to the cabin since the whole harness is out of the car anyways. I've created a little more work for myself but in the end I'll be much happier with the outcome. I've also picked up an HF rear hatch so there is no wiper hole and the portion on the trunk itself wasn't all dented up like mine is :|

These doors and the "new" harness are what started the tear down, and I'm glad it happened, kind of...

A little of the organized mess going on in the garage :|

I also picked up the Integra pedal kit from Strut King. Dead pedal I'll be doing something a little different but you get the idea...

Can't go without a good bay shot

More to come as new parts come in

Be careful with the screws that come with that Strut King pedal assembly. I have their dead pedal on my EP3, and the screws are not stainless, and rust bled all over the place. That reminds me - I have to get some stainless screws. :D
Thanks for the heads up, I don't plan on using the supplied hardware as I plan to rivet them in.

Not too many updates as Ive been working on getting the Silvia straightened out from the S15 swap. Everything seems to be working as it should for it so I can focus on the CRX. Ive been cleaning up a few things here and there in the car and with that painting some of the old parts that were looking a little rough.
I painted the pedal set after drilling into them to fit the Strut King pedals. I didn't want to use the included hardware for a couple of reasons. The hardware included is cheap and rusts easily (as tommy stated) I decided to use rivets. Gives it a cleaner look over the philips screws included in the kit.

Finally got my harness in, after sending it back the first time its finally right and will clean up the bay that much more. I also got the K-tuned S2000 cluster converter and Cluster pigtails for the conversion.

More updates as progress happens!

Nice to see work getting done on the CRX. Those plastic harness fasteners are a pain! It took me HOURS to pull a regular USDM Si harness without breaking them, I cannot image pulling it all for a RHD.
It's a real pain but it will pay off in the end :)b

Back with a few updates, its been a long ass time since being on here

I found a guy that made a hydraulic master bracket for the CRX, similar design to the Soja1. The bracket was a little bigger than I liked so I cut it down to just the size of the OEM Honda master cylinder and trimmed up where there was excess metal that wasn't necessary. I also had to cut a little bit of the sheet metal away so it would fit with the pedals bolted in. Cutting that portion out won't effect it structurally because the bar that crosses over the steering column supports that portion as well. Now to figure out where to mount the reservoir, inside the cabin or in the bay...
(sorry for the lame phone pics :| )

Some better quality pics installed

I have a couple more updates I'll post up later. Also I'm selling the S13, its been fun but I need to focus on just the CRX. Once the Silvia is gone I'll get the CRX re-tuned, torn down for the last time to go to paint and then its final assembly!

Finally got around to taking pics of a few parts on the car that have been laying around in the house. OEM Acura ITR valve cover, swapped to a Gen2 Spoon spark plug cover, installed both intake and exhaust manifold studs with titanium studs and hardware from SpeedFactory, Koyo radiator and also swapped to a Spoon header.

Looking at this picture really disappoints me, the bumper support isn't level :|

I'm finally working on the chassis harness, so hopefully I'll have that finished soon!

You don't expect us to believe that, do you? :p
Good luck with the sale; hopefully you'll get as much out of it as you want.
lol, I mean as far as getting it together for a retune and paint. I'm sure there will be another teardown in its lifetime.

Thank you and same here. It's been too long.

I've been finishing up the cabin harness for the car, since there were a few plugs not being used in the engine bay with running the new engine harness I moved them to where they won't be seen. I also decided to move the fuse box into the cabin above where the ECU will be. I'm not going for a fully shaved and tucked bay, just a clean and simplified look to it. I'll get pictures of it here shortly as well as a couple other updates

#713 ·
Hey whats up guys, here's what I've been up to. I wrapped up my harness for the cabin and chassis. What a real pain in the ass. I decided that I wanted the fuse box in the cabin instead of the bay. being RHD a whole lot had to be cut and extended for that to be an option. It turned out pretty well, as I continued to progress in the harness I got more and more comfortable with what I was doing.
I'm sure you've noticed the one Spoon reclineable seat I have for the car. Well I was fortunate enough to be at the right place at the right time and came across a Spoon bucket seat. So the bucket is for me and the reclineable is for passenger. I need to now ind a set of seat rails for both seats since I sold the Bride ones a few months ago. I also picked up a set of Cusco EK door bars. Cusco never made any for the EF chassis so since I picked these up for the price I did, I have no issues modifying them to fit the EF chassis
So I test fit the seats and door bars to get an idea on how they'll fit. I also mounted up my mishimoto coolant overflow tank. I'm not a fan of the bracket they provided so I'll be having something else a little more sturdy made up for it to fit better.

So car #4 has come an gone since owning the CRX, this time there is no replacement, it is the CRX! I really need to get it together and order all that I need to do so because this year it will be up, running, registered and best of all painted!

One of a few pieces ordered: AC delete :)b

Plenty more on the way and will update as more progress is made.

I've been slacking on updates (as usual) mostly because social media makes things easier for that instant update. I'll be back on here this weekend to post pics of some newly acquired parts and some installed items.
I finally got around to removing the Hasport Cable to Hydro block off of the trans since I'm going to be running a full hydro setup. The EK Cusco door bars have been modified to fit the seat belt mounts, I just need a mounting plate to be made to mount to the front of the seat rail so it will utilize all of the mounting holes/brackets. I found seat rails/mounts for both of my seats. The drivers side was a special order from Japan that I luckily found on sale stateside from MemoryFab. The passenger side is from a fellow EF7 brother who is switching his seat setup in the car. The rest is little things here and there, all new mount hardware from Downstar as well as a full engine bay dress up kit so all of it will be fresh and matching.

Nothing too exciting, just some pictures of a few new parts and "progress"

Seats mounted up utilizing Downstar hardware

Cleaned up a few things in the engine bay, started swapping out the hardware in the engine bay, swapped out the mount hardware for some Downstar units.

And we're hydro!
Image

I picked up some S2000 CR sidemarkers.
Image

Swapped to some Top Secret locking aerocatch latches.
Image

I found a center taillight section, I shaved and polished it up to match the other taillights.

So yeah... There it is, needs a lot more but its a start...

Some exciting things are about to get underway for the CRX finally!
I'll be wrapping up a few more items on the car and then tearing it all down for the last time (fingers crossed) The fuel lines ran on the car go from the fuel rail all the way back to the fuel tank. There is no bulkhead fitting or disconnect so I'll be addressing that. I need to figure out where I'm going to run my clutch line through the firewall so I can either utilize an existing hole in the firewall or where I need to drill a hole and use a grommet to keep it all sealed up and in place. I need to have my reservoir tank modified at the bottom so I can properly mount it so it will be sturdy and not snap the tiny mount that it comes with. I have a few holes to drill so I can mount the forward bottom mount of the Cusco door bars and work on getting the center mount made so it will attach to the seat mount bolt. I also am toying with the idea of mounting the ITR rear upper chassis bar in the back of the hatch.
Then tearing everything out of the engine bay, everything off of the firewall and all panels off of the chassis, glass included
So, I have my work cut out for me because in the next month or so it will be sent out for a full respray :bounce:

This sad and half stripped interior is about to be even more stripped...
Image

The exterior is looking just as sad, but not for long!
Image

And the teardown shall begin, well further than it already is lol...

Leaving anything stock is probably the hardest thing, so what do you do to your daily to make it feel a little more car like? You put Recaro's in it and swap out the steering wheel for a sportier one lol. I found out that I could use a Rav4 steering wheel in the 4Runner and everything functions as it did with the larger 4Runner wheel. I also put a set of CL1 Accord Euro R Recaro SP-J's in it.

So I stopped at a friends shop to pick up a spare SiR bumper. While I was there I was looking around and came across this EF8 with a bad motor...
A few hours of thinking and contemplating what to sell off and purchase, I made the call and bought the car the next day.

Most of you guys would be like OMGWTFBBQ real deal RHD SiR Glasstop plus a full Mugen ProII kit!!! Just put a motor in it and drive it. Well most of you may also figure out I'm not like most and am never content.

I am stripping both cars completely. Putting pretty much everything from my EF7 back on this car when the time comes, for now I'll be swapping suspension so I can roll the new car onto the trailer and send it off to paint. The old shell will get the old EF8 parts that are specific for RHD so I can sell off the shell. So pretty much anything necessary on the firewall and dash for someone to convert their car, or build off of that one. It's been awesome building it up, taking it apart and mocking up parts on it. I've got plenty of parts to pick and choose the best ones to put back into the EF8 when it comes back from paint.

Now back to stripping the cars, I won't have much progress until I've got the one out and everything cleaned up and ready for the new car. Sadly the only pics I've taken are with the iPhone. No real before/after shots with the DSLR... I'll post pics when I can though.

#725 ·
The EF8 is now more stripped than the EF7 was/is  A week of ownership and its down to almost nothing. I'm hoping to get the rest of it wrapped up and swap the suspension components over in the next day or two, I'll need to notch the mount for the hydro clutch setup, other than that it should be ready to go to the paint shop.

Nice purchase!!! It looks absolutely gorgeous with the red colour and mugen bodykit!!!
Looked good, but not my style. Car is getting a full makeover 8)

Not the silvia!!!! Rip
It was fun while it lasted, I'll have another RWD turbo car again, for now the focus is the CRX (now the EF8 lol)

Oh wow, this is going to be quite the undertaking... :)b
Indeed it is, with yet another twist in the project.

After a long three weeks of ownership of the EF8, she's down to the shell and suspension. I loaded the car up on the trailer with all of the spare body panels and took it to the body shop. She's getting a full makeover, and will be a refreshed car ready for all of the new goodies I've been collecting over the years.
